Hi!
First off, a big hello from me, and THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING! If you’ll rather not hear from me, please feel free to unsubscribe below. :) Don’t worry I won’t get upset. :)
I’ve been writing short social media posts for a while now but am planning to write some longer form articles about money and investing that I hope will be helpful for you. Hence this “newsletter”.
At the moment, I plan to write about once a month, but if there is something interesting for the moment, it will come on as well. You can also share what you would like to learn about. It will also be a way for me to announce regular webinars on Money and Investing from a Christian perspective.
And to kick the year off, I hosted a webinar with my friend Elizabeth Venz to share an amazing work she is doing in Kenya. I would also do a case study of one of my favourite companies in the world.
It is not Tesla or Google or any of the latest hot stocks. It is a super simple to understand business that makes a few products you might have used but didn’t know it came from them. It’s not P&G or Colgate or Pepsi :).
If you invested in this company in Jan 1995, you would have paid about $1 per share. As of last Friday, it is trading at $103, more than 100x over the last 27 years. Meaning, if you invested $1,000 in Jan 1995, it was worth $103,000 on Friday. If you had invested $10k, that turned into $1.03m! In the meantime, you would also have collected dividends which the company has paid CONSECUTIVELY for more than 120 years!
The webinar has concluded but I have loaded the video on my website. If you read my investment related posts regularly, it can hard to put everything together. So using this as an investment case study, you can then start crafting an investment plan for yourself.
This newsletter is meant to be packed with longer form, meatier investment related content and therefore longer than my social media posts. In the meantime, you can read some of my past articles at https://www.JoshuaFong.com. There are some really interesting interviews I have conducted with friends around the topic of faith, money and investing.
PS: I have several other webinars planned for the rest of the year (most likely the last Sun of the month), so stay tuned!
Blessings
